Erin works at Symmetry Monday to Friday. Erin is a LGBTQIA+ friendly and sex worker-allied psychologist. Erin works with adults with an interest in anxiety, disordered eating, attachment issues, relationship ruptures and self esteem issues. Erin frequently uses Schema therapy, ACT and CBT in her work. Her background is predominantly in other private practice settings, beginning her own in 2016. Erin also has experience leading groups and working in academic settings including The University of Melbourne and The Victoria Clinic. Erin also had the privilege of working closely with Dr Rita Younan, one of Australia’s prominent Schema therapists through her formative years as a psychologist and had the opportunity to work with her clients over Dr Younan’s maternity leave. It was over this time that Erin was able to gain her most valuable experience in working with people with complex trauma backgrounds.
Using a warm and engaging interpersonal style, Erin enjoys building a connection with each client to promote a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Erin values being direct and helping clients understand the why behind their symptoms. A successful session would be one in which client awareness is increased, a new understanding lands and clarity around the ‘how-to’ of integration occurs. Erin aims to strengthen confidence and self-compassion within her clients, support goal attainment, reduce distress and improve their quality of life.
Erin is a dog person, enjoys pilates and barre and listening to podcasts about relationships and self-care.
